Refreshing for a journal update

Funniest thing I heard at work today:

While passing by the stingray pool, a kid asked his mom "what are those?" and she says "stingrays and man 'o wars." She stops, looks again, and says "yep. Man 'o wars." Completely serious!

Okay, so I'm pretty sure she meant Manta rays, which is still wrong but at least closer to what we actually have than man o' wars. LOL

Also, just found out that Six Flags is doing a special event for GLBT in Sept. 11. Awesome!

Three words: Creepy. Old. Man.

The Good

Financial Aid check came in the mail today! Yayz! I'm not poor anymore! This also more than makes up for the two things following:

The Bad

Saturday night I hit a killer pothole on the 37 but managed to make it to work before realizing that anything was wrong. Enter socalcharger (yay hugs!) to change the flat for me while I was at work. Sadly, had a closing shift and couldn't make it to a repair shop that night.

The Ugly

This morning at the ungodly hour of 8am (on the first day of classes, even!) I thought I'd be able to make it to school and then head over to get my tire fixed after the repair shop opened.

It all sounded like a good idea until my spare went flat :(

Then there is the absurdity of waiting and hour for a tow truck to take me just across the Wal-mart parking lot to Pep Boys because the store couldn't send someone over. Lolz.

Epilogue

All in all, it was quite the adventure this morning, and it all happened before noon!

Also, completely unrelated to the above things...

I have contacts now! And I like them! And I'm finally getting the hang of putting them in and taking them out! And I can wear normal sunglasses again! I bought some yesterday and they're green and I love them!
