And they're OFF!!!

I'm back from getting my braces off and it's wonderful! The first thing I want to eat is a whole bag of sour skittles which I happen to have received from my orthodontist (along with complementary professional strength whitestrips!)

I have to wait for an hour and a half, though, cause I also had a permanent retainer put on as well. My bottom teeth move a lot so this is the only way to keep them straight permanently.

HAPPINESS!!!

K, off to RPG now!

I'm not familiar with the ones you mentioned, I'm not sure I even now what they are...

But yeah, I'm new to RPG and just joined [livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_lives. I've become addicted to it and am spending an ungodly amount of time on the computer now. Sometimes I think I obsess over Harry Potter too much, but it's a healthy obsession (I hope!)

Wow, another Vallejoan, who would've thought? Are you in or out of school? Me, I'm out of school but still stuck here for another year. :P

I'm going to live on campus when I transfer next spring, thank goodness. I'm not too fond of Vallejo, no, I've lived here all my life and want to travel. But I'm restless anyway, so that would explain it.

Personally, San Francisco is a little scary to me, I would never want to drive or find a parking space there either :D I do love spending a day there though, via ferry, of course.

I really love the colors of that game, btw, they're beautiful!

Luckily, my sister is more obsessed with Harry Potter than I am, if you can believe it, so it helps. Have you read the books?

Well, here goes.

The books are, without a doubt, the best way to go if you're new to the HP fandom. The movies don't really pick up on the smaller side stories like the books do. The book universe is much fuller and more complex.

Personally, I didn't enjoy the first two movies that much. I really don't like the actors who play Harry and Hermione either. One's too twitchy, the other too preppy.

I think the movie Hermione is way off, in the books she's not supposed to be that pretty but has loads of bushy hair and large front teeth. But hey, it's a movie and they can't have a main character looking like a beaver. (Not that I really think she would look like that, book Hermione happens to be one of my fave characters).

Ron is smarter and has more of a prominent role in the books, in the movies he's used for comic relief which dumbs him down a bit. He is funny in the books too but more of smart funny (if that makes sense).

The third movie, on the other hand, was much better. It was a lot darker and the acting of the younger cast was much improved.

So basically what I'm trying to say is: The books are definitely worth reading even if only to help you understand the movies better.

::see icon:: I will certainly be reading the series again before that date arrives.

Anyway, I'm transferring to Sonoma State, I'm at Solano Commuity College right now though.

Even though I don't travel very far, I still enjoy it lots. The farthest I've been is Hawaii and I definitely have to go again!

Btw, I do have AIM, if it would be easier to chat that way :D
