To celebrate the opening of my new journal and my first post, here is a poem I wrote about the Greek Goddess Persephone.

I wrote this poem one day when I was extremely bored. Of course you know my pen name is Kore-Persephone so this poem explains her story. I hope you like it!

The Story of Persephone

‘O sweet Persephone!’
Hades did declare
‘Come be my queen for me,
In my underworld lair!’
‘I shall not!’ she did decree.
So Hades did not play fair.
He stole her away to be his queen,
In his underworld lair.
She mustn’t pick fruit from a tree,
For if she ate something from there,
Forever she would be.
Then the Great Zeus did plea:
‘Let her go! Don’t you care!’
On behalf of the mother of Persephone.
Hades then tricked the queen of his lair
To make her eat pomegranate seeds three.
Into the sunlight she walked with flair,
Bringing with her the joy of spring.
But when fall is in the air,
For six months we will miss thee,
Our sweet Persephone!

I will add more later but Stargate is on right now and I don't want to miss it!
Happy reading and Magical journeys! Kore-Persephone
