Day the second
Jul. 27th, 2005 12:39 amI've been meaning to post this, so here is the second part of my journal type thingy. Same thing I said last time, you don't have to read it if you don't want to, I just felt like posting it anyway :D
Day the first, Saturday
Tourist’s Log day the second, Sunday
Well, we have arrived in Alabama. The houses here are huge and so much cheaper than in CA. My dad said we could sell our house in CA and buy a mansion here. That’s crazy.
The weather is unbearably hot, I think it will take awhile to get used to it. Even though the heat was crazy, it rained for a bit in the evening and we went and frolicked around outside for a while. Great fun! There is a creek on my uncle’s property, it’s kind of small but we waded through it earlier. After all the rain, though, the water started rising and going much faster. We tried to toss
ginnaveve in but no such luck, she proved immovable. And she complained that I was stepping on her hair so, maybe later.
After the rain stopped, the fireflies came out, they are so cool and there are loads of them! When I first saw one blink on and off, I said, "Oooh, a blinky thing!" So, yeah. They’re called blinky things now, though I’m sure my family was just teasing me. I’ve never seen actual fireflies before so it was a lot of fun to watch them. More and more showed up after awhile so it they looked like little fairy lights hanging out I the trees.
We went to the US Space and Rocket Center today in Huntsville, which was really cool, and we even saw a documentary called "Space station" on the Imax screen. It was soooo big and in your face, I would love to see another movie on Imax sometime. The Space Camp is there as well. After wanting to go for so long, I finally (sort of) got to! I remember when I used to want to be an astronaut and be the first person on Mars!
I took lots of pictures on my regular camera and some with the digital, my sisters and I are copying the "Roaming Gnome" thing except we don’t have a gnome. We do have a penguin, though, so we named her Roma and took some pictures of her in front of the space shuttles and missiles and such.
The travels of Roma the Roaming Penguin will be posted once I finish up the first part. I'm still putting a sort-of story together for it because I'm a dork like that :P It will probably be in three parts so the pictures don't take forever to load.
'Night all (or, er, morning...whatever)
