I'm back!
I missed the internet so much but I think it did me some good to stay away from it for awhile. Anyway, I ended up writing a journal-y type thing during the trip, but you all don't have to read it. I know somtimes people find those things boring but, I'll post it anyway, 'cause I can.
Alchemist's Traveler’s Tourist’s log, day the first, Saturday.
Since I won’t have access to LJ for eleven days, this old-fashioned pen and paper will have to do. I’m thinking I’ll type it up when I get home.
After I got home from work last night, I stayed up until midnight finishing up some internet stuff (like telling people that I will be gone, yada) and then tried to get some sleep. Didn’t quite happen. I only got a half an hour before having to get up at 3am. Oh well, I’ll make up for it later, I always do :D
We’re on the plane now after an exciting (to me, anyway) takeoff, because the last time when I went to Hawaii, I don’t remember it very clearly which is a bit surprising. You would think it would be something easy to remember.
Anyway, It was a bit like a roller coaster, well, that’s what I told
ginnaveve it was like, anyway. :D We’re up above the clouds now and it’s absolutely gorgeous up here.
ginnaveve says they look like powdered sugar but I think they look more like a crystal ice lake with millions of floating icebergs. It’s so pretty! I may even be moved enough to write some poetry, that is, if I can get the noise of the engines out of my head. Must remember to keep a look out for a flying Ford Anglia, though. Heh.
We’re sitting over the wing on the right side of the plane, I’m next to the window ‘cause
ginnaveve didn’t want to sit there. She’s being a bit paranoid about this whole flying thing (thanks to Final Destination and Lost), so she’s using this trip to get over her fear of flying in a plane so she can jump out of a plane when we plan on going. I want to skydive so much because it’s the closest thing to flying and it just looks like a lot of fun.
We’re headed southward over some desert hills now, toward our stopover at the Dallas/Fort Worth airport where we’ll be taking an even smaller plane into Huntsville, AL.
Well, my hand is starting to hurt so I’m going to go read some manga. Or something.
♥Liz
I'll probably post more as I get them typed up, it's easier to use them to explain my trip, at any rate.
Day the Second
